A Range of Steel Garage Doors To Choose From

Whether your building is domestic, commercial, or industrial, there are various types of steel garage doors available.

Here, we look at them.

You can opt for roller garage doors, sectional overhead doors, sliding doors, or even high-speed doors. Below, we will discuss the Pros and Cons of these four main types.

Roller Garage Doors

Roller garage doors are the most popular and cost-effective steel garage doors.

You can opt for non-insulated or insulated roller garage doors; In addition, they can be finished in whatever colour you would like.

The operation can be manual or electric with various activation devices.  These are popular because they roll around a barrel, meaning minimal head height is necessary.

If you are looking for a very high-security door, you can find more information by clicking here.

Sectional Overhead Doors

Sectional overhead doors are particularly popular in commercial sales garages.

They provide an attractive finish and can operate electrically or manually like roller shutter doors.

The insulated roller shutter doors can allow in some light using clear inserts; however, as the sectional doors have larger depth panels, they can accommodate larger windows.

The downsides are that sectional doors do not have a non-insulated option, can be more expensive to install and repair, and require more head height up and over your ceiling.

Fast Action High-Speed Doors

Fast Action, also known as High-Speed Doors, are internal doors that allow light in but help to keep the cold or dust out. The sectional door pictured above has our own Eco-Strip door installed in front of it.

These doors are exclusive to Lotinga and have become very popular amongst our Commercial and Industrial customers.

Sliding Doors

Finally, we will take a look at sliding doors. If you have wall space on either side of your opening, a sliding door may be the thing for you. Firstly, they can operate either manually or electrically; secondly, these doors can be constructed with solid steel or be a mixture of wood and steel.

You can see an example of a sliding door using a mixture of both here

Roller Shutters can be provided as a High-Security Option, but you may not know that sliding doors can also be.  You can see an example of this here.

So there we have it! Four of our most popular steel garage doors. Yes, the Eco-Strip is not made entirely of steel, but as it is popular with our garage door customers, we decided to include it.
