Aluminium Shutters Project

Aluminium shutters are seen most often on domestic properties or shops. However, this customer has three shipping containers; and aluminium roller shutters were his request.

These doors are powder coated to a non-standard grey colour. As a result, the finish costs slightly more than the standard.

This project is unique because it incorporates a low-level external emergency access system. This emergency system allows the customer to open the shutter should the power fail. We don’t often fit these because when a door is on the inside without another entrance, if the motor jams, an engineer would have to cut his way in to fix it. This is not ideal, so we suggest a wicket gate instead.

These doors run on 240v power; however, some customers may prefer to opt for manual operation as they are not large doors. However, there is no real difference in the price between the two.

Servicing

A roller shutter is a machine; under The Machinery Directive, regular maintenance is necessary. To ensure you don’t fall foul of this law, we send our customers periodic reminders to help them keep up with this obligation.
